Mr. Lockerbie emerged as the organization’s choice from a large pool of highly qualified applicants for the position. He is highly regarded as a sports organizer and event administrator. USACA’s Treasurer John Thickett commented, “After a rigorous three-month recruiting process in which we assessed applicants from all over the world, we are thrilled to announce that Don Lockerbie will be joining us. We have great expectations of what he can bring to US cricket and see a bright future under his leadership as CEO. His proven track record is exactly what’s required to attract interest and support for the development of cricket in America. He’s a team-player and will no doubt succeed with the support of America’s diverse group of stakeholders, while bridging the gap of interest in the sport between the current enthusiasts and our untapped American resources.” Don Lockerbie is expected to hit the ground running starting in his new role on April 1, 2009. Mr. Lockerbie stated, “I am extremely humbled and honored to be selected by the USACA board for the new post of Chief Executive Officer of the United States of America Cricket Association,” adding, “I am familiar with the working nature of cricket on the international landscape and I look forward to utilizing this experience to be a new and proactive resource for American cricket and our dedicated cricketers.”

Cameron Mirza signs with Gray Nicolls |
Young Cameron Mirza dedication to cricket is second to none, just ask anyone who knows him. Born in Morristown, in 1993, to proud parents Mustahsan Mirza and Dawn Donnigan-Mirza. He was introduced to the sport of cricket by his father who was born in Lahore, Pakistan and migrated to the United States as a teenager. His mother an American, born in Queens, New York along with his Dad recognized the talent in young Cameron and has guided and provided him with proper tools necessary for success. He has had many knowledgeable coaches and talented cricketers who have contributed to his growth and development. Coaching alone will not make a cricketer successful, it takes dedication, sacrifice and a hunger to learn. He has wonderful work ethics; he practices almost daily at Indoor Cricket USA. Whenever, he is not in the nets, he is probably playing in a game. As always, you can be sure his Mom, Dad and his sister Amber is close by supporting him. While visiting England on a coaching seminar he caught the eyes of the Gray Nicolls brass as a future star. They immediately offered him a two year junior cricket equipment contract recognizing his superior cricketing ability. To our knowledge no American born cricketer has ever been offered a cricket equipment contract, let alone a reputable company such as Gray Nichols. |

ICUSA condemns attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team |
Indoor cricket USA joins in solidarity with the international cricketing fraternity in its condemnation of the senseless act of terrorism on the Sri Lankan cricketers who were touring Pakistan as cricket ambassadors of peace to fill the void created by the cancellation of the Pakistan/India series.
This senseless act of barbarism against the virtuous society of fellow cricketers, cricket officials and cricket lovers is one of the darkest moments in the history of this glorious game. Our sympathy goes out to the victims, and we do have those who have suffered and are suffering in our thoughts and prayers. We do assure all our Sri Lankan and Pakistani members and friends that we do understand and appreciate the sadness and disappointment that this event must be causing you. In this the era of hope and change Indoor Cricket USA hope that the cricketing world will someday overcome this act of barbarity which is alien to the ideals of the game of cricket.
